Layering order, finally explained

Thinnest to thickest is the short version. The long version saves you a few products.

Lipsticks, a sleep mask and makeup on pink silk

The short version is thinnest to thickest. Watery textures go first so they can sink in, and heavier creams go last to seal everything in.

A simple order that works

Cleanser, then toner or mist, then serum, then moisturizer. In the morning, SPF always goes on last. At night, finish with a balm if your skin is dry.

Give each layer about 30 seconds. That’s enough time for it to settle without turning your routine into a project.
